Host Header in Sharepoint

Steps to create a new host header for sharepoint site

1. Create a site with host header.
2. Check the alternate accessmapping public url for default zone.
3. Check the iis binding. If binding is not there add it.
4. Add the hostname in local domain
5. Add the host name in back connection host name in registry
6. Restart iis and the meachine
